Friday, July 25th

Well I received a request for an update from my dear friend Karen, so here it for those of you who live for the dirt in others lives. LOL Things have actually been going alot better lately, I recently went to the doctor and had all of my levels checked since I had been feeling so down and fatigued and she told me what I was describing was classic depression. So she put me on Prozac since it doesn't interfere with my heart medication for my PSVT. She told me to try it for a month and see how I felt and if I was still getting the chest spasms and heart palpitations due to stress that I should go and see my cardiologist.
Anyways the next day we received some good news that helped alleviate some of our stress, the DA contacted us and let us know that we finally have an actual trial date OCT 13th. After a year and a half of waiting it is finally going to happen, we will finally get closure to this nightmare.
We have also been checking into real estate in the Dayton, Oh area. I believe that we will try and make that move next summer, so if anyone has an opinion on any schools or areas that are better or worse please feel free to comment to this blog, or you can email me direct.
Other than that I have been taking the kids outside more and actually interacting with them, I have come to the realization that know matter what I am going through on the inside that I have to be strong for my kids because in the end they are all that matter.

Busy, busy, busy.... We have been so busy with my parents coming here and then the very next weekend Bob's brother came down. So I am sorry that I haven't blogged in a while. All is going well, Bob's cell phone finally crapped on him so he took over my phone and so I got a new one. :)

Monday, June 16th

Well another blah Monday, and Dylan woke up too early and is back to sleep now, Skylar woke up with a cold and Dakota is his normal wide awake self. I am starting my diet/excercise again today, hopefully this time I can stick to it. It is so hard being an at home mom in the summer when it is too hot outside to do anything and all there is to do for me is snack. Well the only snaking I will be doing now is with fresh fruits, and drinking lots of water. I guess I had a revalation while my parents were here that I really need to start taking care of my body so my family and myself don't have to worry so much about it later. I already have a heart condition (PSVT) and I don't want or need diabetis on top of that. So today is a new day, a fresh start to the new healthier me.

Friday, June 13th ewwww

Well, my parents left this morning and they arrived home safely already. I wish they didn't live so far away. But, as my mom always says "your the one who moved." I know she is right and I sometimes wish we hadn't moved but as they always say you don't know what you've got till its gone. I think they had a good time for the 2 short days they were here. My mom actually fished for the first time in her life (crazy huh!) and as always they enjoyed spending time with their grandkids. Although I'm sure my mom really didn't want to see Dakota get his first mohawk, but he did need a haircut, and I'm very sure that he will be alot cooler. LOL

Monday, June 9th

We are getting ready for my parents, they are coming here tomorrow and will stay until Friday. The kids are so excited to see them, Dakota wants to take my mom fishing since she has never been. I think we will have a great time although very short.
Dakota's last day of school is tomorrow but it is only a half day, so he will be on pins and needles waiting for them to show up. It has been very hot this past week, we have had record breaking temperatures almost every day today we should get up to atleast 100 + with the heat index it should feel 105-110. Thank god for AC. Well I have lots to do today so I better get working.
Almost forgot to tell you that Bobbi is in Brazil. Cesar and Bobbi left on the 6th and wont be back until the 17th. So far she is having a good time, and this time they actually have their return flight tickets. So no extended vacation for them.

Sunday, May 25

Our 6th Anniversary! It wasn't much in the way of a grand day, but I did get to spend time with my hubby ( + 3 kids ). We did alot of reminiscing about that beautiful day, and also took a look at what 6 years has brought us; my first daughter, his first son, and so many wonderful memories that will last us a lifetime. We are also grateful for a daughter that Bob didn't think would want anything to do with him and she turned out welcoming us into her life and now has added a son-in-law and a beautiful grandaughter to our list of things to be grateful for.

Alot of times we (mostly me) dwell on the bad things that have happened or are happening to us in our lives at one time or another, and we don't take the time to see all of the wonderful things that surround us everyday...like children's smiles and their laughter, those are the little things, the most beautiful things and we take them for granted. Don't take anything for granted live life to it's fullest and dance like no one is watching.

Fishing Fun

On a lighter note Bob, Dakota, Skylar, Dylan and myself went fishing Sunday at a pond near Bob's work and we had a blast. Dylan got the first bite of the day which turned out to be a snapping turtle, and yes we did let it go. No turtle soup for us. lol Although Dylan boasted the most catches for the day, I have to say that Skylar was a very close second place and I think she caught the biggest. Dakota was upset that he wasn't the pro fisherman that he normally is when he goes fishing with his dad and his uncle John. But we let him know that we were helping Skylar and Dylan and that he was fishing all by himself. I think that made him feel a little better. We did let most of them go back into the water until we were being stalked by a Blue Herron I think, so we gave him a few fish so he soon realized we were no threat to him and he went back to his perch for the rest of the time we were there.
After that we went and ate lunch and no it wasn't seafood it was McDonald's. We also stopped at a road side stand and bought a crate of strawberries. YUM!! Then we went home and just chilled the rest of the afternoon. I love my life.....

Tuesday, May 20

It was today, a year ago today, but it was a Sunday not a cloud in the sky. A picture perfect day, a day that no one saw coming and no one that is close to our family will ever forget. It was the day my precious three year old daughter told me that she was being molested by our neighbor, that was the day that I will never forget. I will never forget the innocent look in her eyes as she described to me what had been going on what she thought was ok because it was an adult, a dad, her best friends dad that was doing these things to her. It was so hard for us to wrap our head around what she was telling us but we all knew these were things that no three year old could make up.
It has been a long road for us with the legal system and on June 9th we should be able to get an idea of when this will finally go to trial. There has been so many crazy things that have went on with this from the Assistant DA who changed jobs right in the middle of the case to winter holidays for anyone from the attorneys to the judges, to a lot of mishandling of paperwork and just generally the slowest back woods legal system in NC. You would think that being out here in back woods USA they would have just strung him up and skinned him (would have been ok with me), but instead they set bail and he got out, they told him that he shouldn't stay at his house (which is right next door) so he moved to Florida to live with his dad and now at least until the trial he is free to do whatever he wants without any recourse. No one is watching him, no one is making sure that he is not doing what he did to my daughter to someone else's daughter, and that little girl might not have a big mouth like mine, she may not have the courage or feel safe enough to tell her parents.
Everyday I thank god that I raised my daughter to trust us enough to tell that someone was doing something to her that she wasn't sure was right or wrong. And although some days that big mouth gets her into trouble I know that it is a blessing one that I will always praise her for having and I will always thank god for giving it to her.

Friday, May 16

Today I went to the hopital and got my epidural steroid injection for my herniated disc. It was not much in pain difference from getting an epidural for labor. It didn't numb my legs or anything like that and the cortisone doesn't really start to work on pain relief for several days. After it kicks in it could last from a few weeks to a few months. I'm hoping the later.
Things have been quite busy around here lately our neighborhood is hosting it's first ever community yard sale May 24, and I am doing some serious purging. So far I have gone through 10 large totes and out of that so far 5 are empty, unfortunately I still have about 5 totes of baby/ toddler clothes to go though and that is my definate weakness. When it comes to getting rid of that stuff I find it very hard to let go.

Friday, April 25

I forgot to tell you that on Tuesday Skylar and Dylan were out back picking flowers and Skylar got attacked on her foot by some fire ants. I treated them like I normally do and sprayed her toes with after bite it helps stop the itch. I didn't really think anything of it until later when she got her bath she was still complaining that her toe was sore to the touch and was still itchy.
The next morning I checked out her toe and it was red and swollen and it appeared to be spreading on top of her foot. So I went ahead and called her new pediatrician and made an appointment, we got in that afternoon (wednesday) and the doctor went ahead and gave her an oral steroid to help with the swelling and itching and went ahead and prescribed her an antibiotic just in case. By Thursday morning the swelling had gone done considerably so I did not see the need for her to take the antibiotic.
Thursday Bob was off and we went to McCalls in Clayton, they just reopened after 7 m0nths ( an airplane crashed through the front of their building), it is buffet style and I have to say that I enjoyed it more than going to the Golden Corall. We also went to Lowe's were we picked up the rest of our guttering supplies and then went home and finally finished the job. I also dug a trench behind our bushes and routed the water from the gutter out to our side yard so it would not flood my flower beds anymore. It has been so nice outside the last couple of days that I haven't spent much time cleaning the inside of my house, but soon the weather will change and so then I will focus on the inside apperance of the house. I hate being in when it is so nice and it is definately not fair to the kids for me to keep them in when it is so nice. I know at some point I wont have to pick up after them so much, but for now it is a duty that I regretfully accept.
